About Shivonne

Mental Health Support through connection, creativity and play

I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Clinical Supervisor, and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, specialising in child and family counselling and play therapy. Over the past 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children, young people, and families across a range of complex settings, including foster care, child protection, family support services, sexual abuse, and specialist trauma counselling services.

At the heart of my work is a deep belief in children’s capacity to heal, grow, and thrive when they feel safe, understood, and supported. I work with children and adolescents who are experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, grief and loss, friendship and family challenges, and neurodiversity (Autism and ADHD). My approach is always developmentally informed, gentle, and responsive to each child or young person’s unique needs.

I also work closely with parents and caregivers, recognising that supporting the adults around a child is one of the most powerful ways to create meaningful and lasting change. I partner with families to build understanding, strengthen relationships, and develop practical tools that support emotional wellbeing at home and in everyday life. I offer counselling for parents and caregivers themselves — particularly those navigating anxiety, burnout, emotional exhaustion, and the complex transitions that come with parenting and caring roles.

My work is grounded in a warm, relational, and trauma-informed approach, with a strong focus on connection, safety, and trust. I am passionate about walking alongside children, adolescents, and families to support healing, build confidence and self-esteem, and nurture resilience.
