Adult Counselling
I support parents and caregivers who are experiencing anxiety, low mood, burnout, or the emotional strain that can come with parenting, motherhood, and family life transitions. Many parents come to counselling feeling overwhelmed, emotionally depleted, or unsure of how to balance their own needs alongside those of their children.
Counselling provides a supportive space to pause, breathe, and make sense of what’s been building beneath the surface. Together, we can gently explore experiences such as anxiety, low mood, emotional exhaustion, identity shifts, and the challenges that can come with adjusting to parenthood and changing family dynamics.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I draw on evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT, EMDR, mindfulness, and psychoeducation, while keeping therapy grounded in your real-world context. This means considering not only your internal experience, but also the broader family context, patterns of stress, and the environments you are navigating each day, whilst focusing on developing coping tools and strategies.
Sessions are paced to meet you where you are. Whether you’re seeking support for your own mental health, wanting to feel more emotionally regulated and present as a parent, or simply needing space that is just for you, counselling is tailored to your goals, values, and circumstances — supporting meaningful change both within and beyond the therapy room.
Common reasons parents seek support include:
Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally exhausted
Low mood, loss of motivation, or feeling disconnected from yourself
Burnout from caring roles or the mental load of parenting
Adjusting to parenthood, motherhood, or changes in family dynamics
Supporting a child with emotional, behavioural, or mental health challenges
Navigating guilt, self-doubt, or pressure to “get it right”
Wanting to feel more regulated, present, and confident as a parent
I offer counselling both in person and via telehealth.
