If you're looking for clinical supervision that genuinely supports your professional development - and meets your accreditation requirements - here's what working with me looks like.
Who I supervise
I offer clinical supervision for social workers, counsellors, and play therapists working with children, adolescents, and families. Whether you're working towards a specific accreditation, maintaining your registration, or simply wanting a thoughtful space to develop your practice, you're welcome to get in touch.
I work with practitioners at all stages - from those early in their careers who are building their clinical confidence, to experienced clinicians who want a reflective space to sit with the complexity of their work.
My qualifications and background
I'm an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (APTA), with over 15 years of experience across some of the most complex areas of child and family practice - including child protection, out-of-home care, intensive family support, trauma and sexual abuse counselling, school social work and mental health private practice.
I hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Melbourne, a Bachelor of Behavioural Neuroscience (Psychology) from Monash University, and a Clinical Certificate of Play Therapy through Play Therapy Australia. I am a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW, member number 300799) and registered with the Australian Play Therapists Association (APTA) as a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor.
That breadth of experience shapes the supervision I offer. I understand what it's like to carry complex cases, navigate difficult systems, and hold the weight of child and family work -because I've done it, and I continue to do it in my own practice.
What I typically support supervisees with
Supervision with me is reflective, relational, and practically grounded. I work with supervisees on:
Case formulation and clinical reasoning - developing the ability to think clearly and confidently about complex presentations
Trauma-informed and attachment-based practice - understanding how early experiences and adversity shape the children and families you work with
Play therapy practice - for play therapists at all stages, including those working towards registration or consolidating their practice
Focused Psychological Strategies - supporting social workers to understand and articulate their use of FPS in practice, which is central to AMHSW accreditation
Working systemically - with families, schools, and other services, which is often where the real complexity in child and family work lives
Professional identity and wellbeing - making sense of your role, your values, and how to sustain yourself in demanding work
I also provide documentation and referee statements for accreditation applications where appropriate.
Accreditation requirements I can help support:
Supervision with me can count towards hours required for:
AASW Accredited Social Worker (AASW) status
AASW Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) accreditation - I am an AMHSW myself and understand the standards and competency requirements for Focused Psychological Strategies and the AASW Practice Standards for Mental Health Social Workers, and often support supervisees applying for accreditation.
Australian Play Therapists Association (APTA) - as a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor with APTA, I can provide supervision that counts towards APTA registration and renewal requirements.
Australian Pacific Play Therapy Association (APPTA) - APPTA currently accept supervision provided by Registered Play Therapist Supervisors who are members of APPTA, or another Play Therapy Association (APT, APTA, BAPT or PTI)
Play Therapy Practitioners Association (PTPA) - PTPA currently accept supervision provided by Registered Play Therapist Supervisors who are members of PTPA, or another Play Therapy Association.
If you're unsure whether supervision with me would meet your specific registration or accreditation requirements, the best first step is a conversation - I'm happy to talk it through with you before you commit to anything. I also encourage you to refer to the information provided by your credentialling association.
Format and availability
I offer supervision online via Telehealth across Australia, and in person in Wheelers Hill, Melbourne.
Individual supervision (60 minutes) offers an intensive, one-to-one space where the full focus is on you and your practice. The luxury of dedicated time means sessions can go deeper — into complex case reflection and analysis, clinical reasoning, and the kind of honest, exploratory conversation that benefits from an established and trusting supervisory relationship. Individual supervision suits practitioners who want that depth of individualised attention and a consistent, ongoing working partnership.
Group supervision (90 minutes, typically 3 to 4 participants) offers something different - the opportunity to learn from and alongside peers, participate in shared discussion, and access collegial support. It can be a rich and energising environment, particularly for those working in similar settings or towards similar accreditation pathways. The trade-off is that time for intensive individual case discussion is naturally more limited given the group format. Group supervision is also a more cost-effective option for those mindful of finances.
Which format suits you best will depend on your learning goals, where you are in your career, and what you're looking for from supervision. Some practitioners do both - individual supervision for depth, and group supervision for peer connection. I'm happy to talk through what might work best for you.
